Expect the unexpected as these HGs maneuver through their own parallel universe of Big Brother.

BBOTT and why it sucked but also didn’t.

The title appears to be a bit incongruous, but it’s how I feel. I didn’t hate the format. After about three weeks of voting, I realized that America by and large shouldn’t be allowed to vote for things, even for something silly like BBOTT.  I am not a fan of the care package. I think voting for a nominee and have nots is enough. We don’t need a care package or a vote until finale. I think having that much power skewed a lot of the game and ended up making people insane. The house was split truly or the first time since season 6. Season 6 still goes down as one of my favorites, but it shows me that the Nerd Herd would’ve been America’s favorites that year if we transplanted it and put it in 2016. That’s depressing to me. Janelle, Howie, Kaysar, James would have been hated and treated like crap and lambasted across Twitter. In Season 6 America agreed one one thing, the Nerd Herd sucked. They were sanctimonious, holier than thou cry babies who begged and pleaded for everything.

And this year the Nerd Herd is the Plastics. (I refuse to call them the ballsmashers when they only managed to smash one pair of balls in Scott) took over the roll of Nerd Herd 2.0. With their constant pandering to America, to claiming they were the good, normal people and everyone else on the other side were pieces of crap,  (Shelby and Morgan’s words) to believing they could play the game however they wanted, including breaking multiple deals (Alex) but bitching when the other side did as well, it was hard for me to stomach them, let alone rooting for any of them to win.

On the other hand you had the Misfits who were loud, brash, uncouth, and said pretty much whatever the heck they wanted to at any given moment and didn’t pretend they were the “good, normal” people. They were jerks and they knew it. They knew they were being petty and played it up. They got upset and annoyed and they wondered why America voted against them (some of the time), but ultimately they got over it. They didn’t spend hours begging in the storage room for America to vote their way with the have nots, nominee, or vote. The Plastics did. In fact, it got so bad I refused to watch DRs from Alex while she was in the house, because it was literally all she did. Her only game was to beg America. And she was considered such a great strategist and gameplayer. And nothing she did came close to being good game.

And it boils down to this, the Plastic stans are wannabe social justice warriors (sjw’s). They like to think they’re sticking up for women (because Jason said some bad stuff about Shelby), they want to root for strong, intelligent women to win the game, and they dislike how mean and petty the Misfits were. And then they also liked to tell people, “Oh we’re just rooting for the underdog.” Well, when the plastics won the majority of the care packages and hoh’s, it’s hard to call them underdogs. When confronted with this truth, their true colors showed, “We just don’t like Kryssie. She’s gross. She’s annoying, she burps too much, she whines, she doesn’t play the game.” Or, “Jason is a returning player with a built in fan base.” “Justin is too good at the social game, he doesn’t try hard enough at the other parts of the game.” Yet the entire time they are claiming these things, Shelby, Morgan, Alex, Scott, and Whitney are blasting Danielle. They call her a slut, the make fun of her body when she wears a bikin, they call her a vile troll, they imply she’s a bad mother for having a showmance, for daring to leave her kid to even go on the show. This was pretty much a daily occurence. If I flipped on feeds to the Plastics they were making fun of Dani or some member of the Misfits.  And then I’d flip over to the Misfits and it was usually them talking about sex, Neeley twerking, or doing something stupid. They had fun. They were coarse and rude and had conversations that would make grandmother’s blush.

Jason did say vile things about Shelby, but Shelby also said vile, horrible things about Dani, Justin, Kryssie, and Jason. Morgan said horrific things about Dani, Justin, Jason, and Kryssie. Whitney called Dani a slut multiple times, and Scott said nasty things about Kryssie and Dani.  In my viewing of BBOTT, I saw far more shit talking and cruel talk come from the Plastics in regard to the other side. After BB18 and listening to Michelle and Zakiyah constantly shilt talk the other girls, I wanted nothing to do with the mean girl crap. I’m over it. I’m tired of these girls getting cast and America thinking it’s okay and that it’s just the way the game is played. And I sure as shit do not want to reward anyone 250K for it.

I chose to be Team Misfits after a few weeks on Twitter when I realized the majority of the people supporting the Plastics were as vile and cruel and hypocritcal as the people they were stanning. I particularly recall being told if you like the Misits you are probably not good at being a human being. With the constant derision and attacking and having RHAP, Reddit, and Jokers bashing the Misfits and their supporters nonstop for a full season, I realized that I’d rather support the Misfits, the outcasts, the people that the mainstream want to ridicule and turn their backs on.

This season was ruined for me and by the supposed super fans of the show, who showed they are worse than casuals when it comes to the show. They think by saying, “Oh, it’s just meant to be fun” while tearing down people and calling them dumb, or bad at being human beings, or insulting their intelligence because they want to vote for someone you don’t like or vice versa, it’s okay. It’s not no harm/no foul. Having a split fandom isn’t actually a good thing or a fun thing, especially when people are being insulted by supposedly neutral parties. It’s not okay how a majority of this fandom acted this fall about BBOTT (I’m including myself in this). It’s not okay that people were told by update sites and podcast sites that their opinions didn’t matter and that if they supported one side over another that they were dumb or bad at being human beings.

I honestly hope that they don’t bring back BBOTT2 unless they change it. I want to see old school Big Brother. Get rid of the twists, no returning players, the key wheel back, and good old fashioned strategy with minimal involvement from America. That’s what I want. I don’t want care packages, or a nominee vote, or an eviction vote. And I want people to stop acting like fucking fools about BBOTT. But that ship has sailed.

(And in case you hadn’t got the clue, I’m 100% voting for Jason in the finale. It was gonna be him or Shelby for my vote)

BBCAN4 Week 6 Houseguest Standings

Updated thoughts for Week 6

Joel:

I’m not sure how someone who was so likable and easy going turned into a such a paranoid, annoying mess, but he’s gotten to the point this week that I’m fine with him going home. I’m disappointed that he turned into a hot mess when he faced adversity.

2. Mitch

I never bought into his mastermind edit, as his gameplay is as a rat floater. And he couldn’t even do that justice. The fact that people on Twitter are still gushing about his stellar gameplay, makes me worried for humanity. I have nothing against him as a person, but I hate his game.

giphy (30)

Raul:

Going into this season, I was hoping I would like him or at least not hate him. Unfortunately, his personality is a bad as his gameplay. There’s a reason Kelsey is his best friend, they both suck. I hate his hair, his voice, his whininess and the fact that he thinks people should only do things to benefit his game, when he’s not even willing to do for himself. He’s lazy, arrogant, and fucking annoying as hell. Please leave.

Annoyed-1 2

Maddy:

Normally, I would find Maddy’s honesty refreshing. However, she’s delusional as FUCK. I’ve legit never seen anyone so rude and confident in themselves with no reason to be. She truly believes she’s the prettiest in the house, which is laughable, but she’s gone as far as saying her game is like Sarah Hanlon aka the WINNER of BBCAN3. Honey you ain’t winning. You’ll get dragged final 2 and get lucky to get a vote from Ramsey. Sit down and shut the fuck up.

c7acb120-91f7-11e3-827d-69f2d4943f80_ariana-prettier

Ramsey:

He’s still the nicest person in the house, but he’s a waste of space in the game. He has no idea what’s going on and he’s still letting Maddy get to him. That alone puts him near the bottom of the barrel as a player.

anigif_enhanced-buzz-2912-1378875841-5 2

Nick:

Again, he’s totally irrelevant and a waste of space. I don’t even like listening him to talk about regular life stuff on feeds, because he’s so boring. He is a dud. Plus he lets his brother walk all over him, which is pathetic.

Kelsey:

I get that she is playing the game now that Loveita taught her how to use her brain, but I still don’t like her on a personal level. We’ll leave it at that.

tumblr_me1d7c7xWU1qi9v0p (2).gif

Jared:

The fact that he thinks he’s a mastermind is pretty funny. The fact that he thinks people believes the lies he’s been spreading is hilarious. He’s a horrible liar. I don’t even hate him as much as some people do, but I don’t get his confidence in his ability to lie to people. He’s awful at it.

tumblr_inline_npq3rpY3EZ1t7oi6g_500 2

Phil:

I’ve tried repeatedly to like him, but he makes it impossible with how mean he is about most of the girls in the house. I get that Maddy is annoying and that she made out with his brother and screwed him over, however, the amount of terrible things he’s said about her behind her back is disgusting. I also don’t like his attitude regarding Nikki, first he’s in love with her, then he’s saying horrible stuff about her too. I just don’t like assholes like him.

tumblr_meb7kguir71r9rdu5o1_500 (2).gif

Cassandra:

UGH. This girl drives me crazy. She has moments of sanity and hints of being a good person when she’s not around Tim. As soon as she’s in a room with him she starts thinking with her vagina again and becomes a horrible version of herself. The sad fact is that Tim has made it abundantly clear he’s fine with her being cut and she’s oblivious.

ab9ffd6b87a8900eee24c1d80906d805 2

Tim:

I am thoroughly convinced that Tim is a lunatic. Some think he’s a mastermind, but I’m starting to think he’s actually crazy and people don’t know how to respond to him, so they don’t. I do think he’s pretty convincing though, considering everyone seems to think he and Nikki are there for entertainment only and can’t win the game. He’s still my favorite player, if only by default, since almost everyone else sucks this year. That being said, I hate him when he’s around Cassandra, I love him with Nikki, and his stories are crazy.

giphy (31)

Nikki:

Nikki has her moments of being rational and sane, but unfortunately they don’t last long enough. I have a lot of respect though for her, considering her life story and her background. Plus her tantrums in the DR can be funny, especially when she’s making fun of herself and knows she’s being ridiculous. However, there are times she becomes totally irrational completely flies off the handle and burns bridges, which is why it’s hard to root for her as a game player. Plus the over the top hatred of Cassandra is hurting her more than helping her game.

Well that was dramatic.gif

My overall rating for this week has been:

Why Jordan Smith should win The Voice

I still watch the Voice, because I love music and because it’s still fresh to me. I love discovering new singers and I really like the idea of it about being about the voice and not someone’s appearance, which is why I was soooo glad that Zach left before the finale, because he was only in the Top 10 because of what he looked like. Thankfully the 12 year old fangirls of the show aren’t the top demographic. That being said, Jordan Smith, is probably the best singer I think the show has ever seen. I’m not talking performer, although is rendition of “Somebody to Love” was a theatrical spectacle unlike I can remember watching in previous years, but Jordan Smith’s voice surpasses most voices the Voice has ever seen, and is better than a lot of current popular singers in the industry right now. People hate him because he’s “too good” and want him to lose the show for various reasons, like “he’s fake, “he’s too good”, “he’s not the best singer”(which is laughable at best), “he’s fat”, “he’s ugly”, “he got too much help from Adam”. Whatever the naysayers are saying, it’s not enough to detract from the simple fact that a show called “The Voice” should ultimately be about the voice. Jordan’s voice is spectacular. It is one of a kind and it’s up there with the likes of Freddie Mercury, and divas like Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and other freaks of nature whose voice is bigger than themselves, who sings and the world stops to listen because they are that good. Jordan Smith is the best contestant on any singing competition I have ever heard, and if he doesn’t win The Voice tomorrow night, something is wrong with the world.

Well I went again and didn’t post for two months.

I wish I could say this is not a regular occurrence for me, but it in fact is. I think I went into this year thinking, I’m going to be able to maintain a full time teaching job and watch all my television shows and blog about it. Turns out I really, really can’t. Especially not when my illness, which is severe iron deficiency anemia, has begun to show itself again. So, I’ve been sick. I’ve been coming home every day after school and sleeping anywhere from 5-6 hours a night, getting up and doing grading or finishing lesson plans, only to turn around and sleep another 6-7 hours. Not normal. I finally went to the doctor and discovered my blood levels are super low again and I would need blood transfusions. And that’s not fun. It also has left me no time to watch my shows or blog or do anything but try to recover and still do my job.

But… things are looking up. I caught the ending of the Voice. I was not surprised or upset that Tessanne won. I was however surprised to see how many people hated her online. Twitter users and Youtube commenter were particularly vicious. Tessanne is spectacular and she deserved it.

New Girl is still fabulous. I finally caught up on that show today. I was able to watch Tuesday’s episode live. I still love Coach and Schmidt. They are my favorites.

I haven’t watched Agents of SHIELD since November. I will eventually catch up to it, but I pretty much lost interest after Ward and May slept together.

HIMYM is starting to drag again for me. They need to pick up the pacing. This is one show that I think I’m going to finish watching after the finale has aired. Although, I try to make it a point to watch my favorite show’s finales live, but this one has frustrated me.

Grey’s Anatomy. HOLY FLIPPING CRAP. That cliffhanger. I just want to know what April and Derek are going to do. And the whole story with Calzona is just up and down and all over the place. Grey’s is really good again. I am excited for it to come back in February.

Sherlock is back! I have yet to see the first few episodes, mainly because I have way too many other shows going on, but all the reviews I’ve heard are really good. So that is on my list of shows to catch up on.

I still haven’t caught up on the Dr. Who special. I feel awful about it too, because I LOVE Dr. Who. I REALLY LOVE it. I know that instead of doing this I could be doing that and I don’t know why I feel so guilty about it, I just do. Needless to say, I am excited to see the 12th Doctor and can’t wait for Capaldi.

Shows That I’ve Been Watching in Secret But Now Profess My Undying Love For:
Community
Hart of Dixie
Supernatural
Parks and Rec
The Mindy Project
Psych

I’ve been a Community, Psych, and Supernatural fan from the beginning, but recently got into Hart of Dixie , Parks and Rec, and The Mindy Project. I am behind on all of these series though. I should catch up.

So to wrap up or TL;DR:
I am really behind on my television shows, because I am suffering from a flareup of a disease that I have and I feel guilty, but I’m going to try to do better in the future.

Not that I have any readers.

I suck at blogging. I realize this. I have completely just stopped watching The Voice,  because NBC goes in and out while I’m watching the show and so while I catch up on it after it airs, sometimes I can’t do it until the weekend due to my incredibly stressful job.

Either way, I am loving the top 10 (now). I totally disagreed with Preston Pohl leaving over Will, not that I don’t like Will, I just think Preston has an amazing voice. Regardless I honestly think Tess has a really good chance of winning it all this year. She’s phenomenal.

I have caught up on all the episodes and frankly, my bolded predictions earlier hold true for the most part. I really like Ray and Austin too. This is a pretty good mix of finalists this season.

As for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.:

I am still loving the show to be honest. I understand that it’s being panned critically by a lot of people and fans who are Marvel fanboys hate the show and want anyone who watches it to go kill themselves. Regardless, I am actually enjoying it for what it is. I have no real issues. Sure, I find Skye annoying sometimes and think it’s really lame to have Ward save the day each episode (well Fitz may have actually saved the day last night, so maybe not), but in all I find it highly entertaining.

New Girl:

I am literally so excited about the season now that Coach is a permanent member. I hate “Newbies” who hate Coach and are bashing Damon Wayans Jr. Sorry, but no. He’s hilarious and brings a breath of fresh air into the show. The first few episodes were actually pretty lame until he came back and now he’s a permanent member. So… yeah, I’ll take Coach. P.S. I am so over Schmidt not with CeCe.

Grey’s:

Still love Shane, don’t care about Christina and Owen or Owen at all really. Loving the new and improved Richard, concerned about Bailey, and hate April and Matthew together. In general, I just want more Jackson and April scenes even if just for friendship. The season is getting on my nerves.

Modern Family:  I need to catch up on the show.

HIMYM: LOVING this season apart from Marshall and Daphne. I literally hate that storyline. Everything else is just freaking fantastic!

I have recently also started watching The Mindy Project. SOOOO funny. I am loving the show.

I am going to try to post more consistently in the future, but probably not. lol.

The Voice Week #4

Sorry, I missed a week. I was super sick, but I am back now!

The first battle round is from Team Adam which is Grey and Nic Hawk.  Adam chooses Dominoe by Jessie J. The battle round is pretty good and both sound great. In the end, Adam goes with Grey because he feels like she has potential and wants to work with her. Blake steals Nic, even though he complains about not getting hit on by Nic. Nic is grateful.

Timyra- Joi and Amber Nicole sing “Listen”.  I have to admit, neither is nearly as good as Trevin Hunte when he sang it. Like woah, they sound like karaoke singers compared to him. Either way, I listened to the song without watching the screen. I feel like Timyra- Joi has the stronger voice of the two. She’s really good for her age. Cee Lo looks unimpressed and Adam is stunned.   In the end, Christina chooses Amber and Christina says she had to go with the more established singer. She is really upset that no one stole her.  Blake wishes he would have stolen her.

Up next is Blake with Cher as adviser. He pairs up Shelby Z and Justin Chain. They are given “Don’t You Wanna” by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson.  Cher and Blake give them so good advice about how to sing a duet together.  Justin talks about his accident defining him and how he wants to overcome. Shelbie Z doesn’t want to go back to cutting hair. They are told to give it their all by Blake. Personally, I feel like Shelbie Z sounded better tonight. She just sounded awesome. Nothing against Justin at all. They both sounded great. Blake goes with Shelbie Z in the end.  No one steals Justin.

Next is Cee Lo: Anthony Paul and Caroline. Miguel is his mentor. They tell Anthony to not over sing the song because he’s from show choir. They really like Caroline’s take on the song. In the final rehearsal Anthony outshines Caroline and Cee Lo is concerned with Caroline’s performance. Up next is “As Long as You Love Me” by Justin Bieber.  Caroline’s voice and rendition of the song is beautiful. Anthony sounds pretty generic to be honest. I’d choose Caroline, honestly, and Cee Lo agrees with me. He chooses her. Christina steals Anthony. She thinks he’s fantastic and has wonderful vocal control.

Next up is Adam’s team again with Tessanne vs Donna Allan. I don’t get why he continually puts his two best singers against each other, but whatever. They sing “Next to Me”.  They sound AMAZING. I’m still mad that they are up against each other. Totally unfair. I mean honestly not one thing wrong with eithers performance. Personally, I connected more with Tessanne, but Adam can’t lose. He ultimately chooses, Tessanne! No surprise here, really. Donna is good, but I feel like Tessanne has more potential.  No one stole Donna, which is a surprise. WOW.

Christina chooses “House of the Rising Sun” for Briana and Jacquie. Jacquie fangirls over Ed Sheerhan.  Christina thinks that they will push each other to be better based on this battle pairing. They sound AMAZING together. Jacquie for her age sounds phenomenal. Either way, she goes she can’t lose. They all love them, but Christina goes with Jacquie! Cee Lo and Blake both choose to steal Briana. She goes with Blake ultimately.

Here are the teams as of the end of tonight’s show:

Adam Levine
Ashley DuBose Barry Black Donna Allen Grey
James Irwin James Wolpert Justin Blake Matt Cermanski
Preston Pohl Tessanne Chin Will Champlin
Cee Lo Green
Caroline Pennell Cole Vosbury George Horga Jr.
